Desiree “Dezi” Elmore brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and championship pedigree to her coaching career, built on a decorated playing journey that spans high school, collegiate, and national levels.

Elmore began her collegiate career at Syracuse University during the 2016–17 season, where she made an immediate impact for the Orange. Appearing in 24 games, she ranked second among freshmen in scoring (2.3 points per game) and showcased her versatility as both a scorer and defender. She recorded a career-high 15 points on 7-for-9 shooting against Niagara and tallied six points in the ACC Tournament against North Carolina. Elmore also notched a personal-best six rebounds at Stony Brook and two blocks versus Wake Forest, setting the tone for a strong collegiate career.

Following her freshman campaign, Elmore went on to earn multiple honors at the Division I level, establishing herself as one of the premier guards in the BIG EAST Conference at Seton Hall. Her collegiate accolades include:

  • 2020–21 All-BIG EAST First Team
  • 2019–20 All-Met Second Team
  • 2020–21 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team
  • 2019–20 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team
  • 2019–20 All-Met Third Team

Coming out of Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut, Elmore was a five-star recruit, ranked the No. 51 overall player and No. 13 guard in the 2016 espnW HoopGurlz rankings. A 2016 McDonald's All-American nominee and four-time Class L All-State selection, she led Capital Prep to four consecutive state championships, finishing No. 1 in the state rankings every season and never losing to an in-state opponent.

The 2015–16 New Haven Register Connecticut Player of the Year, Elmore averaged 26.7 points, 15.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 3.7 steals, and 3.5 blocks per game as a senior. She graduated as the program’s all-time leader in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks, and played her AAU basketball with the nationally ranked iExcel Walsh program.

Elmore now channels her playing experience, competitive drive, and proven record of success into coaching—continuing to develop the next generation of student-athletes with the same passion and intensity that defined her playing career.
